Budapest in a few words :

The site was already occupied 50 000 years ago, but the current name of the city dates from the 19th. In 1873 the three cities, Óbuda, Buda and Pest were united under the name of Budapest.

70 million odd liters of water issued from 80 sources supply 12 thermal baths. These sources have created numerous caves, a long network exists under the hills of Buda.

You can admire many monuments from different periods and styles, like 2000 years' old Roman amphitheatres,  400 years old Turkish baths and Art Nouveau buildings typical of Hungary from the late nineteenth century. The harmonious aspect of the city's architecture dates from the early twentieth century, thanks to large residential buildings constructed at that time in an eclectic style in the example ofVienna.
