Spend a "Renaissance Week" in Hungary and enjoy some medieval flair with splendid sights and fine meals !
The year 2008 celebrated 550th anniversary of Matthias Corvinus coming to the throne of Hungary.

This self-guided tour will lead you to the cities of Budapest, Eger, Szilvásvárad and Visegrád.

Program
Day 1 Arrival in Budapest
Upon arrival at Budapest airport you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Depending on arrival time during the day you might even have time for a short walk.

Day 2 Discover Budapest
Discover Budapest at your own pace – we provide transport tickets for the adventure. What you „must” see in Budapest: Castle Hill, Royal Palace, Matthias Church, Opera House, Basilica, Vajdahunyad Castle, Parliament. You’ll surely deserve the Renaissance feast we offer for dinner.

Day 3 Eger
You take a train ride to Eger the medieval town, home to the famous wine „Bull’s Blood”. Walk int he castle, famous for its Turkish time history and taste the local wines. We serve game specialities for dinner.

Day 4 Szilvásvárad
A short train ride takes you to Szilvásvárad. Visit the castle park, the monument stable (home to Lippizan stud), the Millennium ventage tower and enjoy a lunch of trout specialities in the Szalajka-Valley (nature reserve area).

Day 5 Return to Budapest
After returning to Budapest by train the day is yours for leisure. Optionally, you may visit the Renaissance Wax Museum or enjoy a bath visit and dinner afterwards.

Day 6 Visegrád and the Danube Bend
Today you visit Visegrád, one time royal residence in the picturesque Danube Bend. The Royal Castle and the citadel will tell you much about the splendour of the Renaissance times of legendary King Mathias. A Renaissance lunch will be served to crown your day.

Day 7 End of the trip
Your taxi takes you to the airport. We hope you bring along nice memories of a Renaissance Week in Hungary.
