ARCHITECTURE OF BUDAPESTprice from 380 €
Hungary - Family holiday - Culture - 9 days

"Walk through the ages" - explore the unique architecture of Budapest.
Budapest's Classicist, Romanesque, Gothic and Art Nouveau architecture is predominantly shaped by the works of master architects of the 19th century. Many significant buildings that were built during Roman times in Hungary and the Turkish occupation of Hungary still stand. The city has had its share of rough times during its nearly 1000-year-old history, so the blocks of buildings and districts are not always uniform in style: this is what gives Budapest its unique eclectic architecture.

Self guided tour.

Program
Day 1 Arrival in Budapest
Upon arrival at Budapest airport you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Depending on arrival time during the day you might even have time for a short walk.

Day 2 Roman times
For your „Architectural Discoveries” we provide you with a city map, route proposal and a 7-day travel card so that you may find your way to all sights we recommend to visit. Today you see Aquincum the Roman-time settlement in Óbuda (Old Buda).

Day 3 Turkish times
Your walking tour leads today to the Turkish monuments – not too many of them survived the centuries, but the more spectacular they are. Optionally you may book our half-day programme: entry into a top bath followed by a delicious dinner.

Day 4 Buda Castle
Buda Castle, high above the town had seen a rich history and so preserved buildings from all centuries. A day in the castle district is a real treat for those interested in architecture and art history. You day ends with dinner up there.

Day 5 Free for leisure
Optionally, we take you to a Budapest City Tour so that you may gain a general picture of the town.

Day 6 Andrássy Avenue
Again, today you take a „lesson in art history” – from St.Stephen’s Basilica, Opera House, the marvellous palaces on both sides of Andrássy út, Heroes’ Square with the Millennium Monument – and many more, presenting different styles in an unique combination. We crown your day with a nice dinner.

Day 7 Classicism
Some of the sights selected for today are: National Museum, Chain Bridge, Hungarian National Academy, Museum of Fine Arts, Art Gallery. Relax and enjoy your dinner we book for you.

Day 8 Art Nouveau
Budapest offers nice masterpieces of Art Nouveau such as: Music Acadamey, Gellért Bath, Geological Institute, Greasham Palace or Museum of Applied Arts.
You’ll have your farewell dinner in an inner city restaurant.

Day 9 End of trip
Your taxi takes you to the airport. We hope you bring along nice memories of the architectural diversity of Budapest.
